Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has fired a fresh political salvo, vowing that he is ready to step into the country’s leadership in 2027. Speaking at a burial in Kitutu Masaba, Nyamira county, Matiang’i accused President William Ruto’s administration of presiding over widespread corruption, poor governance, and disregard for the needs of ordinary Kenyans. He criticised the government’s failure to release capitation funds to schools, drawing on his experience as Education CS to illustrate the scale of the problem.
